David Crosby Puts Ozzy Osbourne And Alice Cooper On The Table While Talking About ‘Childish Stage Drama’
The vocalist of The Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash, David Crosby shared a post on his official Twitter page referring to the classical actions that some rock stars have done on stages such as bashing a guitar as ‘childish stage drama’ and gave examples with using Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne and iconic musician Alice Cooper.
As many of you know, many rock stars throughout their career have bashed a few guitars on stage and played with dangerous stage props such as flame throwers just because all of which were the things the fans wanted to see when they go to a rock concert.
Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne has one famous stage moment that everybody remembers still to this day and even has its own toy dedicated to that moment. As you probably recall, Osbourne once bit the head off a bat during a concert back on January 20, 1982.
Apparently, a fan thought it was a good idea to throw a bat on stage since Osbourne allegedly also bit the head off two live doves during a meeting gone wrong. Osbourne revealed that he thought it was a rubber toy just like every other, however, it was a real bat and Osbourne ate it which caused him to get rabies shots right after the show.
Unlike Osbourne, Alice Cooper treats his animals quite generously as he uses many snakes as stage props quite frequently and the boa constrictors used on stage are all very real. Alice still keeps snakes he used on stage and names them, and his current one is named Christopher, after the late-star Christopher Lee, his previous snakes have had names like Count Strangula and Cobra Winfrey.
Recently, David Crosby shared a post on his official Twitter page stating that guitars are only for playing not for being used in order to create ‘childish stage drama,’ according to him. In addition to this, Crosby stated that it is stupid regardless of who has done it before.

“Guitars are for playing ..making music …..not stupidly bashing them on a fake monitor for childish stage drama .….I really do NOT give a flying F if others have done it before It’s still STUPID”
After seeing his bold statement, a fan shared a tweet asking David Crosby if he can give other examples for the ‘childish stage drama.’ Crosby shared another post on his official Twitter page stating that both Ozzy Osbourne and Alice Cooper, especially with his snakes. Crosby stated that despite it sells tickets, people should sell them only with their music.
