Brian Welch Wants Fans To Be Ready For The Best Korn Music Ever

Korn fans will hear even heavier music in the band’s upcoming album. In fact, it might be the heaviest Korn has ever done.

In a new conversation with WSOU 89.5 FM, Korn guitarist Brian Head Welch revealed they have been working ‘passionately’ on their next album. During the interview, he also discussed the recent songwriting progress. He said:

“Well, I’ll just say, yes, we are passionately and intensely working on new music. We’re a little bit behind. We’ve been really digging deep into sounds and tones and miking techniques and just really focusing on every aspect of just the miking and the sonic levels of everything because… I love the last few records we’ve done in the last 10 years, but I think — I just have something in me that thinks we could beat the tones.”

He added:

“I think it’s the best and heaviest Korn stuff in years. And I think it’s gonna be raw and just kind of more basic, as far as sound and recording and everything. I don’t wanna give it all away, but we’re just very, very pleased with where we’re at right now.”

What We Know About The Album So Far?

Korn released their latest work ‘Requiem’ in 2022. Ever since its release, the band has been consistently touring.

Although Welch feels like Korn is behind with new music, they are still proud of what they are trying to achieve. He explained:

“We’ll work for — I don’t know — a couple of weeks. Then I won’t see [Jonathan] for a month or two. But it’s starting to pick up now because we wanna put new music out. We’re a little bit behind, but we’re very proud of what we’re doing. And we can’t wait for people to hear it.”

Back in September last year, Welch said they would be back with new music.

So, when is it coming out? Nothing about it is clear yet, but it’s safe to say that it won’t take long.

Is Fieldy Coming Back?

Fieldy took a break from Korn back in 2021, and even though he still contributed to ‘Requiem,’ nobody knows what’s going on nearly two years later.

In October 2022, Fieldy gave an update about his bandmates. He said he’s cool with his Korn bandmates, they are all doing their own thing right now, and there’s no drama between them. Korn hasn’t talked about Fieldy being away recently, so there is nothing certain about his return yet. If Fieldy doesn’t appear on the next album, it’ll be the first time that a Korn record doesn’t have him on it.

We’ll be keeping an eye on the new record and Fieldy’s comeback as well.
