Brian May Explains The Technique Of His Intro To The Song ‘House Of The Rising Sun’

Queen lead guitarist Brian May shared a post on his official Instagram page revealing the method behind the intro to the traditional folk song ‘House of the Rising Sun’ through his taking on it, apparently, May has a few tricks and suggestions about that particular intro.
As many of you know, the House of the Rising Sun is a traditional folk song that reveals a person’s unfortunate life in New Orleans. While it was recorded by many musicians, the most popular version is when The Animals released their version in 1964 which was a number one hit on the UK Singles Chart and also in the U.S.
As many of you know, Brian May shared an IGTV video on his Instagram account yesterday playing The Animals late guitarist Hilton Valentine’s timeless guitar riff for the song ‘House of the Rising Sun’ in addition to praising Valentine by stating that he created the path for the future of rock.
Here is what May said:

A day after, Brian May shared another post on his official Instagram page playing the intro of the same track with his own version in addition to revealing a few fun facts about the song. Apparently, the tremolo arm should not be used for this particular intro along with stressing the fact that the intro was not an easy one.
